Late night talk show legend David Letterman is at the Caps-Pens game

Well this is insane. Late night talk show legend David Letterman and his Rick Rubin-esque beard is at the Capitals game tonight. The Capitals showed Dave on the jumbotron towards the end of the first period.

According to RMNB’s Chris Gordon, Letterman was warmly received by the Verizon Center crowd.

While Letterman was introduced to the crowd, Verizon Center organist Bruce Anderson smartly played Warren Zevon’s Werewolves of London. Zevon was a friend of Letterman and used to lead the band on the Late Show when Paul Shaffer was out.

Letterman frequently attended New York Rangers games at Madison Square Garden and featured hockey players numerous times in the past.
