RMNB on ESPN 980: You won’t believe Ian’s prediction for the Caps-Penguins series

Peter, Ian, and Keith, a coin, will reveal their predictions for the second round of the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs soon, but Ian provided a preview of one of his picks to ESPN 980’s Bram Weinstein on Monday.

Defying his usual self-proclaimed pessimism, Ian’s picking the Caps in a sweep.

“I don’t think this is going to be a long series,” Ian said. “And that might sound crazy to a lot of people, but I just believe this might be a sweep or a five-game series. I think the Caps are really just going to impose their will on them because they want this. If you ask any of the guys in the room, this is the series they wanted. They want to go through this ghost.”

Weinstein was dubious. “I’m with you on that,” he said,” I just know what the history is and us sweeping them feels far-fetched based on what’s happened through the years here and they are the literal dragon.”

Well, not literally, but you get the point.

Listen to the full segment here for more of Ian’s bold reasoning.

So what do you think? Caps in four?
