Tom Wilson has more goals in the postseason than the Chicago Blackhawks

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is playing the best hockey of his career. Wilson, in four playoff games, has more goals (three) than the Chicago Blackhawks have as a team (2) through their first three games of the playoffs.

Take a look.

Tom Wilson’s goals (3)

4/13/2017 – Tom Wilson’s Game One OTGWG

4/19/2017 – Wilson saves a goal and goes down the ice and scores one himself.

4/19/2017 – Wilson scores after receiving a beautiful pass from Andre Burakovsky.

The Blackhawks goals (2)

4/17/2017 – Dennis Rasmussen opens the scoring in the second period.

4/17/2017 – Patrick Kane would score on the powerplay, but later the Predators would score three unanswered goals to defeat the Blackhawks in Game Three.

Over the last week of postseason games, Wilson has gone from a fourth-line pest to a third-line finisher. Willy Baby is tied for the team lead in goals with Alex Ovechkin. Wilson is also tied with three other players for third in NHL playoff goalscoring.

Beyond the entire Chicago Blackhawks team, Wilson also has more tallies than the 2016-17 Rocket Richard Trophy winner, Sidney Crosby (1), and former Capitals draft pick Filip Forsberg (2). Someone pinch me. I must be dreaming.

During his ridiculous two-goal outing last night, Wilson was credited with a “Tom Wilson hat trick” on Wikipedia.

And now, here are some crucial Tom Wilson memes.
