Lately, hockey just keeps hitting us in the feels.
On Saturday, the St. Louis Blues organized a surprise reunion for Staff Sgt. Nathan Nenninger and his family. It’s adorable.

During the Blues game, Jessica Nenninger was invited to play a trivia contest called “Truth or Bear.” Jessica had to say if the fact presented to her was true or false. If she got it correct, she was given a prize that included tickets to see the Raiders of the Lost Ark symphony concert and an opportunity to pick a mystery prize presented by the Blues mascot, Louie.
“True or false, I am currently still at Fort Bliss, Texas,” was the question presented on the screen by her husband.
Jessica thought about it for a moment, but settled on false. Louie then presented her husband as the “mystery prize.”
The family had a very emotional reunion while the crowd roared.
This isn’t the first time that Staff Sgt. Nenninger planned a surprise for his family. In December 2016, Staff Sft. Nenninger, who had not been home since March, surprised his three kids with an early Christmas gift. Staff Sgt. Nenninger’s wife, Jessica, wrapped him in a life-sized box. The kids all screamed when they noticed their dad was standing in the box in front of them.
Thank you for your service, Staff Sgt. Nenninger. I am sure your family loves your surprises as much as I do.
