Filip Forsberg has blossomed into one of the game’s best goal-scorers and dammit, it still hurts. Coming into Saturday’s game against Washington, Forsberg had scored a hat trick in consecutive games.
Today he scored again. Forsberg now has seven goals in his last three games.
8:54 into the second period, Forsberg scored off a beautiful one-time pass from Viktor Arvidsson.
How do you stop that? The answer is: You don’t.
The goal gave the Predators a 2-1 lead.
In the first period, Forsberg also tallied a beautiful primary assist on Roman Josi’s tenth goal of the season. As Forsberg faked as if he were going to shoot, he instead threw a cross-ice pass to Josi, who rifled the puck home.
Forsberg would add another assist on Vitkor Arvidsson’s empty-net goal in the third period.
Forsberg now has five goals and nine points in five career games against the team that smartly drafted and stupidly traded him.
