The Washington Capitals are getting promotion from the unlikeliest of sources. A day before former Law & Order SVU star Christopher Meloni was photographed wearing a Caps hat with Mariska Hargitay, Delegate Vivian Watts rocked a Caps lid while on the floor of the Virginia House of Delegates in Richmond.
Watts, a Democrat, represents the 39th district, which is located in Northern Virginia’s Fairfax County.
RMNB reader Taylor S., who works for a Virginia state senator, first alerted us to the news.
Delegate Watts, who was once named Citizen of the Year by The Washington Post, is currently serving her second term in the Virginia House of Delegates. She was first elected as a delegate from 1982-85 and has been a regular member since 1996. Originally from Detroit, Watts graduated from the University of Michigan in 1962.
We see you, Delegate Watts, and we love you.
