Braden Holtby has very strong opinions about socks

Braden Holtby’s passion for men’s fashion is well known and he’s continued to explore the art this season. Holtby did a photoshoot for GOTSTYLE and donned a fedora in a photoshoot for DC Luxury Magazine in October. He also rocked a fancy Smoky Bear hat/tan coat outfit after a recent practice at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Friday, Holtby shared his opinions about socks as part of a promotional video for the Caps Holiday Ticket Package. And I can report, he is very passionate and opinionated about the topic.

When asked how important socks are to an overall look, Holtby believes they’re crucial.

“Socks can change the dynamic of an outfit,” Holtby said. “You know the colors and designs… they’re sneaky, but they do the trick.”

But does the outfit and socks have to match?

“No,” Holtby said adamantly. “No, you don’t match it. You have to go flair and color.”

I’d also like to give props to Karl Alzner, who gave the recommendation to not wear high socks with shorts.
