I don’t know about you, but when I was a little kid going to games at the MCI Center, my one goal was to get on the Jumbotron. That’s a pipe dream that I still haven’t accomplished to this day, but this small child at a Red Wings game now has.
On Saturday, the Red Wings took on the Anaheim Ducks at Joe Louis Arena. A stop in play allowed the in-arena camera team to pan to the crowd looking for the usual scores of happy fans to cheer and dance. The camera then settled on this very happy kid. He became the star of the show.

As you can see and hear, the arena rejoiced in cheers when the kid appeared on the Jumbotron. The Joe Louis Arena crowd also heavily booed any other fan (or Ryan Getzlaf) that appeared until the camera gave into their demands and the giggling child returned.
He was even named the honorary first star of the game!
