The Caps ended their six-game win streak with a troubling loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. A bad bounce gave rookie Artturi Lehkonen a goal in a first period that was otherwise dominant for Washington, but after that the Caps crumbled. Nick Backstrom‘s power play goal was neutralized 90 seconds later by Jeff Petry‘s goal, itself the result of a defensive breakdown by Karl Alzner.
So the Habs win and the Caps have serious stuff to think about. The next streak starts Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Caps went about 15 minutes without a shot on goal, Carlzner got totally buried and Nathan Beaulieu got a penalty for abuse of the officials for whatever he said here.

Aaaaand congrats to the Caps for making a splash on social media night.
And elsewhere: goalie fiiiiight!
The Caps don’t play again until Wednesday in Philly, who all of a sudden don’t win every game, go figure.
