Lightning beat Caps 2-1 (SO), but at least the Caps scored

The Washington Capitals nearly forgot how to score there. They had the puck in Tampa on Saturday night, but they just couldn’t muster much danger for Ben Bishop. For a while, it seemed as if Nikita Kucherov‘s goal would be enough to drop the Caps, but Nick Backstrom injected life with a power play marker in the third.

Overtime gave us nothing, and the Bolts won it in the shootout.

Shootout Bullets!

  • Drouin didn’t put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Kuznetsov put the biscuit in the basket! Oshie-esque!
  • Point put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Backstrom didn’t put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Kucherov didn’t put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Ovechkin didn’t put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Boyle put the biscuit in the basket.
  • Johansson didn’t put the biscuit in the basket.

Meanwhile, Alex Ovechkin keeps getting minor penalties, John Carlson fired a team-high six shots on goal, and Braden Holtby is the best.

“Highlights”

It wasn’t a good game, but shout-out to Derek to repping us in Tampa.
