How the Caps celebrated Thanksgiving at Verizon Center

On Thanksgiving Eve at Verizon Center, the Capitals played host to the St. Louis Blues and the organization went all out to celebrate the impeding holiday. Alex Ovechkin got out his figurative carving knife and feasted on the average goaltending in net. And all-throughout the night, the Caps transformed their intermission activities into a celebration of America’s second favorite bird.

During the first intermission, two curling teams curled with frozen turkeys provided by Giant.

The second intermission featured tiny turkeys playing hockey against each other. Yes, the Mites On Ice game became a turkey fest.

The costume appeared to be hard to skate in.

This is so ridiculous.

That’s a good look.

Finally, for reasons I’m not completely sure of, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Craig Laughlin brought two stuffed animal turkeys into the booth. Joe Beninati’s reaction was priceless.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Capitals and everyone here at RMNB.

Gobble, gobble, gobble!
