Caps vs Blue Jackets: Sunday Matinee

Good afternoon folks. The Caps and the Columbus Blue Jackets both come into today’s game on small winning streaks. Only one of those streaks can last.

The Caps lineup is going to look a little different after the injury craziness against Detroit.

Columbus is still a bad team that has John Tortorella behind their bench, riding great special teams and a former Vezina Trophy winning goalie. Lets hope the Caps can grab all the points like they weren’t able to do last week in Columbus.

Puck drop is at 12:30 on CSN and your various streaming outlets.

Team Record Possession PDO Power Play Penalty Kill
    Columbus Blue Jackets 9-4-2 47.76% 103.3 29.3% 84.8%
    Washington Capitals 11-4-2 53.88% 102.7 13.7% 84.6%

    Projected Lines

Paul Carey is up from Hershey, Eller and Oshie are out. The bottom 6 is a guess from the media.

    Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Burakovsky
    Johansson – Backstrom – Williams
    Winnik – Beagle – Wilson
    Carey – Sanford – Connolly

    Alzner – Niskanen
    Orlov – Carlson
    Orpik – Chorney

    • Jay Beagle provided the only tally needed to win against the Red Wings and Tom Wilson was really happy about it.
