Saturday night, the Capitals hosted Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Verizon Center. It was adorable.
During the national anthem, Alex Ovechkin and Braden Holtby held hands with two of the Wish Kids during the singing of the national anthem.
The sweetest thing. During the anthem, both @ovi8 & @Holts170 were holding hands with their #CapsFightCancer buddies. 💜💜💜 @russianmachine pic.twitter.com/t4BQbowlJf

Ovi also made sure to give another gift to Connor, the Wish Kid he was playing for tonight.
Connor was very excited.
Meanwhile, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nate Schmidt found their Wish Kids during warmups and each tossed them pucks in a sweet moment.

Finally, Peter, who was video-bombed by Justin Williams while doing an interview with Jill Sorenson, got to participate in the ceremonial face off with former Capital John Druce and defenseman Brooks Orpik.
Peter, who teared up during his introduction by Wes Johnson, received a special well wish from Orpik after he dropped the puck. He was beaming.
What a night.
