Caps at Jets pregame: Candy coma

Tonight, the Caps will get a chance to extend their two game winning streak against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets will try to even up their record after they fell to the St. Louis Blues on Sunday, which put them under .500. But that’s not the main reason you’ll want to tune in. It’s actually the long-awaited battle between Alex Ovechkin and, his number one fan, Patrik Laine. They faced off against each other in the World Cup but now Laine will get a chance to beat his idol in his home arena. Or, he will lose to his idol and probably end up not washing another jersey.

We begin at 8:00 PM on CSN. Finally, the start times are getting earlier. The road trip ends tonight. We are blessed.

Team Record Possession PDO Power Play Penalty Kill
Winnipeg Jets 4-5-0  46.86% 99.3 12.5% 78.8%
Washington Capitals 5-2-1 56.42% 102.0 17.4% 78.3%

Projected Lines

Halloween Hangover

No, not that kind of hangover, but rather a Halloween candy hangover. It exists and you probably have one if you consumed a gross amount of candy yesterday. You would know if you had one because you feel approximately 16 pounds heavier, you have a horrible headache from a sugar crash, and you have a bad stomach ache. I do this about once a week so here are some tips I find helpful to assist your recovery:

  1. Go for a long walk or a jog, don’t nap
  2. Drink so, SO much water
  3. Have a whole day of nothing bad. Many veggies, some light protein, no alcohol, and no candy.

Another nice gesture by Ovechkin

This is brilliant. (Via @santirodriquez)

Holiday Wars

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Time for the hardcore Thanksgiving fans to fight with the hardcore December holiday fans. Every November 1, there is always someone that posts “Going to get my Christmas tree!!” followed immediately by someone letting them know, “Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened yet, calm down”. Personally, I don’t have a side because I see this as a win-win situation. I don’t lose because I love both holidays. So, I would like to know what side you are on. Side “Savor every moment of the turkey holiday” or side “I’m already convincing myself ‘Love Actually’ is a great movie and I’m breaking out the icicle lights”.
