Saturday night, TJ Oshie was spitting blood after taking a high stick to the mouth from Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad. Zibanejad was given a four-minute double minor.
On Tuesday, we finally found out Oshie’s parting gift.
Oshie, BTW, has 10 stitches stretching from the middle of his lower lip to the middle of his chin. From the high stick Saturday. Ouch.

According to CSN Mid-Atlantic’s Tarik El Bashir, Oshie had to receive ten stitches to close the wound on his face. The cut stretched from his lip to his chin. Over the last few days, Oshie has sported the cut on his lip in Halloween photos.
But it wasn’t until the Capitals published their photo gallery from the team’s season-ticket holder event Monday, where we could finally see the stitches.
Let’s zoom.
Ouch.
Just like Daniel Winnik last week who blocked a shot with his head and split part of his ear open, Oshie did not miss a shift.
