The Washington Capitals are hosting their Halloween Party tonight — see all the costumes here — and Alex Ovechkin just posted something ridiculous on his Instagram page. It’s a video of Salem, Massachusetts native Zach Sanford singing, or maybe I should say butchering, the Neil Diamond classic Sweet Caroline.
I must note that Sanford is dressed up as Dog The Bounty Hunter. He also got support with the backing vocals from the other Capitals players.
This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Mostly because when Ovechkin pans to the audience, he captures Matt Niskanen sitting at the bar who is dressed up as the tooth fairy.
Oh my god. I can’t even.
Monday update: Braden Holtby is the man who chose this song for Sanford.
Sanford on his viral karaoke performance: "I wanted to do some Missy Elliott. But Holts ended up picking out ‘Sweet Caroline’ for me."
