Shall we try for a fourth win? I think we should. Tonight, the Caps are facing the New York Rangers at the Verizon Center. You could consider this a fun little Metropolitan Division match up, or ‘Lundqvist vs. Holtby: The Battle of the Goalie Baes’. I hate saying ‘bae’, but this is really my only exception.
How are the Rangers looking these days? Fine. The Rangers are currently sitting third in the division at four standings points while we sit first with seven. You’ll want to tune in to keep an eye out for some entertaining Rangers line juggling as coach Alain Vigneault will be trying to break that .500 against your team. Defenseman Dan Girardi is not expected to play after his groin injury last Saturday against the St. Louis Blues.
After tonight, we won’t see the boys for a bit as they begin a week-long journey through Canada for some late night games. So soak in the regular start time and the VC rumble because you’ll never hear it again (until November 3). Puck drop is just past 7 pm on CSN, let’s party.
| Team | Record | Possession | PDO | Power Play | Penalty Kill |
| New York Rangers | 2-2-0 | 54.22% | 99.1 | 14.3% | 81.3% |
| Washington Capitals | 3-0-1 | 57.83% | 103.0 | 14.3% | 72.7% |

Storylines
- Can Alex Ovechkin tie Wayne Gretzky’s GWG career mark tonight?
- Ovechkin continued being a good human and now has a special brand new autographed book for his shelf.
- Mike Green thinks a hot dog is not a sandwich, which is absolutely correct.
- Our buddy Brooks Laich might not be in the best situation up in Toronto.
- After taking a scary puck to the head, Daniel Winnik’s ear is lookin’ juuuust fine.
- Alex Semin can still play. Not graceful but pretty good hockey.
- You can still enter the Caps raffle to help support Pat’s family and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Seriously, you should 100% check it out and donate.

I have to move to the big apple within the next week or so. I got a great job and I am sad to leave, but excited to start something new (and be #RMNBUndercover at Isles and Rangers games). Please provide me with your best tips/tricks on moving. Bonus points if they’re about how you had to move to a big city.
My packing playlist has consisted of a lot of Kings of Leon, so I leave you with one of my faves.
