The Pittsburgh Penguins’ home arena has become the “PPG Paints Arena” which will host the Washington Capitals for the season opener next Thursday. The Penguins released the new name announcement on Twitter and for some strange reason, the CSN Philadelphia channel for the Flyers thought they could throw in a super cute joke about their 13–3-1 record against the Penguins in Pittsburgh.
Jumping to the defense of the Pittsburgh Penguins is not something I feel okay doing. It’s a backwards, bizarre, dirty feeling but after reading this series of tweets, I think it’s safe to assume we were all thinking the same thing. “Who the hell does CSNPhilly think they are?”
First, there was the original announcement from the Penguins.

Next up, there was a small chirping noise from the east side of Pennsylvania.
We thought the new name was going to be Wells Fargo Center West.
Flyers own an 11-3-1 record in the regular season there.

Ooooh, sick burn right? Wrong. A simple photo response from the Penguins will settle this.

I don’t quite know what CSNPhilly was expecting here but, in their defense, they knew what was coming.
Totally.
