Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis opted to go to the 9:30 Club over an entire game of preseason hockey, Monday. He made the right decision.
Leonsis attended the sold-out Green Day show at the popular DC concert venue and received the VIP treatment from club co-owner Seth Hurwitz.
Leonsis documented his experience on Twitter. Judging by the timestamps of the pics, Leonsis arrived around 8pm and you can tell how much he was geeking out.

From the crowd’s perspective, Leonsis was standing with Hurwitz on the right balcony above the stage.
The Caps won their preseason matchup against the St. Louis Blues in the shootout 2-1 while Leonsis was rocking out two miles away.
If you were one of the lucky ones who attended the show, please share your media and what it was like in the comments.
