Here’s the Caps’ updated training camp roster, which now includes only 34 players (21 forwards, 10 defensemen, and 3 goalies). You’ll notice that prospect Zach Sanford remains on the team and may be the surprise of camp. Sanford scored a goal in his preseason debut against Montreal. The 21-year-old forward opted to leave Boston College before his junior season and sign an entry-level contract with the Caps over the summer. This will be his first year pro.
Australian Nathan Walker also remains in the hunt for the Caps final roster spot.
Hershey Bears training camp opened Sunday and is free and open to the public. Here is an updated schedule from the Bears.
According to the Bears, fans attending the practices must abide by the following policies:
- Park in front of GIANT Center and proceed to the Season Ticket Holder Door.
- Doors will open 15 minutes prior to scheduled practice time, and will remain open until 10 minutes after the scheduled start time.
- All fans must sit in Sections 121 or 122.
- All fans must depart the venue immediately following practices and are not permitted in restricted areas.
- Fans are expected to heed the instructions of Security and Building Management.
