Tom Wilson distributed a big hit to Carolina Hurricanes center Patrick Brown in the first period.
In the second period, Wilson received some return fire of his own. The Caps alternate captain for the night took a shoulderto the jaw and head from Hurricanes’ center Jordan Staal.
Wilson did not return for the third period. The Caps PR announced Wilson had an upper body injury and his early-exit was precautionary.
