Taylor Chorney captains summer league team to championship, trophy resembles a keg

Sound the Chorn Horn and plan the parade. Capitals defensemen Taylor Chorney and Aaron Ness are champions … of a four-on-four summer-league tournament in Minnesota.

Wednesday night, Da Beauty League (the is intentionally misspelled for cool points) held its championship game between Sportsdigita and RBC.

Chorney’s Sportsdigita won 10-5 after taking an early 6-1 lead before half time.

Capitals prospect Aaron Ness registered a beautiful assist on a Tyler Pitlick goal.

At the conclusion of the game, Sportsdigita was given the John Scott Cup, a cross between a keg and a spray-painted trash can.

Chorney finished the season with 11 assists in 8 games. Ness had four goals and six assists. Caps goalie prospect Adam Carlson also participated.
