Here’s Tom Wilson using a ‘magic wand’ to read Harry Potter in the dark

Wednesday night, Tom Wilson showed off his ingenuity in a classic Snapchat from girlfriend Taylor Pischke.

While Wilson read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in bed, he realized it was too dark. Instead of reaching for the lamp, Wilson grabbed, according to Pischke, a magic wand and lit up the room.

Of course.

Look at him. His face is so casual like this is a normal thing an adult does.

According to the Harry Potter Wikipedia, Wilson had to use his wizarding powers to summon the light (and definitely not press a button on whatever he was holding).

To illuminate the end of a wand, the caster must call out the incantation “Lumos.” If correctly incanted, the end of the wand will then illuminate and cast light in the immediate vicinity of the caster. It can also be used to illuminate unseen entrances.

The Wand-Lighting Charm is simple, but requires concentration. Take care not to accidentally set your wand alight as damage of this kind can be permanent. If in any doubt about your abilities you would do better to buy yourself a magic lantern.”

So again to recap. That’s Tom Wilson. In bed. Reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Using either a Harry Potter wand (or a phone that very much appears to be a Harry Potter wand) as a reading light.

Thanks to Paige Leckie for the heads up.
