In June, former Capitals forward Eric Fehr became a Stanley Cup champion for the first time after his new team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, defeated the San Jose Sharks in six games. The 30-year-old Fehr scored three goals and added an assist during the Penguins’ playoff run, which included a GWG in Round Two against the Caps.

On Wednesday, Fehr got his designated day with the Cup, meeting the Phil Pritchard at his Winnipeg home. After taking a photo in his office, Fehr let his family lift the trophy.

Then it was off to get some breakfast in downtown Winnipeg.

Next, Fehr brought the Cup to a Christian Hockey Camp.

Once he was done in Winnipeg, Fehr traveled to his hometown of Winkler, an hour and a half south.

Fehr took the cup to Winkler’s Southland Mall from 1-3pm.

According to CBC, Fehr’s hometown was very supportive during the playoffs.

Winkler, a small city 95 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg, threw its support behind Fehr during the Stanley Cup Finals, holding viewing parties in a park, while businesses posted signs cheering on their hometown son.
