Troy Brouwer and Joel Ward are facing off against each in the Western Conference Finals. The members of the Caps’ 2014-15 roster are vying for an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup with their brand new teams, the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks. The two friends recently described the experience as “weird” to ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun.
Tonight both players scored in Game Five in ridiculously similar fashion.
Brouwer’s goal gave the St. Louis Blues a 2-1 lead late in the first period. The Brouwer Pouwer leader knocked a rebound that floated high into air with a homerun swing that’d make Bryce Harper proud. It was Brouwer’s eighth goal of the postseason, which ranks third in the NHL. He literally cannot be stopped.
Just an unreal swat. #StanleyCuphttps://t.co/jDpgMC9B1S

This is Brouwer’s best postseason to date. He is a pending unrestricted free agent this summer.
In the second period, The Big Cheese answered Brouwer’s baseball-esque tally with one of his own. Ward got his blade on a rebound that popped high into the air near the crease. It was Ward’s third goal of the postseason.
Scoring goals out of mid-air – everyone's doing it. #StanleyCuphttps://t.co/0FtDJjyNyx

Later, Wardo added an empty net goal.
In summary, hockey is F-U-N: FUN!
The Sharks won 6-3 and took a 3-2 lead in the series.
