The Pittsburgh Penguins mud-stomped the Washington Capitals in Game Two, so of course the visiting fans celebrated from the steps of the National Gallery. Without tradition our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof.

There were unsubstantiated reports of bad behavior, but it appears as if everything went smoothly. Like, agonizingly smoothly.

There were chants of “DC’s our house!”

And the classic “Let’s go Pens”

We did hear about some retaliatory trash talk from Caps fans.

Which is better than the garbage from Thursday, though maybe a bit tasteless to me. Maybe that’s just because I don’t have a garage. I have garage envy.

I still prefer this new vein of trash talk.

Really, I’m not even angry with the Pittsburgh fans. I’m just cranky about the game.
