Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer recently re-proclaimed his love for the Washington Capitals. Apparently the entire Nats team is rooting for the Caps too.
“I know we all are going to be pulling for them in the clubhouse, it’s exciting,” Scherzer said to CSN Mid-Atlantic. “It’s the best time of the year, especially locally in the area to see a local team in the playoffs.”
This isn’t the first time Max has shown some love to his (adopted) hometown hockey team. Last season, Scherzer and a few of his Nationals teammates (including Bryce Harper) attended Game 4 against the Rangers in May. Those shoulder pads look ridiculous, Bryce.
“We found a way to be able to get to a game and that was a lot of fun being able to watch them win,” Scherzer said. “I got to meet the guys afterwards. There were a lot of similarities (between baseball and hockey players).”
The Nationals also sent out a good luck message earlier this week, that included words from Harper during last year’s Cap’s playoff run:

No showing of support from the Orioles. Yet.
