Last night during the third period of Caps-Wild, Evgeny Kuznetsov, the Capitals leading scorer, was struck in the head by Mikael Granlund during a face off. Kuznetsov left the game woozy and the Caps later announced he’d be reevaluated Friday. We were all worried.

Friday afternoon, the Capitals released an update, saying Kuznetsov took and passed concussion tests and is expected to play Saturday against the Stars.

Per NBC Sports:

“During the end of the third period, Evgeny underwent and passed all tests pertaining to the league’s concussion protocol evaluation,” the Caps said today in a statement. “We expect him to take the morning skate tomorrow and play against the Stars later that night.”

Great news.
