With the Caps back from the all-star break, a third of the roster went on team-building event on Wednesday. Justin Williams, Braden Holtby, Marcus Johansson, Philipp Grubauer, Brooks Laich, Brooks Orpik, John Carlson, and Nicklas Backstrom braved a torrential downpour to take a private tour of The White House.

I’d give you more details, but the Caps didn’t share any. That’s okay; we’ve got social media.

“Deece crib!” John Carlson wrote on Instagram.

“Visiting Mr. Obama today, he’s got a nice house,” said Marcus Johansson.

“Chatted briefly with @barackobama and you should all be getting a few bucks back on your income tax this year,” lied Brooks Laich.

The players didn’t have a chance to talk taxes or convince Barack Obama to finally come to a game because Barry O. was giving a speech at the Islamic Society of Baltimore. It’s the first time he’s ever been to an American mosque during his presidency.

Still it looks like the boys had a good time today.

Visiting mr Obama today, he’s got a pretty nice house! 😃👍😅 #whitehouse
