Tom Wilson leads warm-ups (From Capstagram)

A shorthanded Caps team is in Boston tonight to face the shorthanded Bruins. No one likes the Bruins. No one likes Brad Marchand. Marchand won’t play tonight. He’s suspended for being a nincompoop.

The Bruins sit in fourth place in the tightly packed Atlantic Division, where no team can seem to decide if they’re any good or not.

Puck drops at 7 PM. Time for a new streak.

Team Record Possession PDO Power Play Penalty Kill
    Washington Capitals 28-7-3 51.4% 102.1 25.6% 84.5%
    Boston Bruins 20-13-4 49.6% 100 28.6% 82.4%

    Projected Lineup

By way of the wonderful Isabelle Khurshudyan, who has a verified account and we don’t:

    Ovechkin – Backstrom – Oshie
    Burakovsky – Kuznetsov – Williams
    Chimera – Johansson – Wilson
    Laich – Sill  – Galiev

    Alzner – Niskanen
    Orlov – Schmidt
    Ness – Chorney

    Holtby

Again I’m Right In My Analysis

Jeremy Roenick is spreading tidings of comfort and joy on Twitter today.

If my career was a joke then I'm really sorry about what u have had to endure during ur life. I hope it gets better https://t.co/oOjbxxVCkU

You voted for him means you're a joke and have no respect for the game or system. No more time spent on you https://t.co/6oH7gMB339

I don't listen to his podcast but I love that he listens to mine. He knows mine is better. Lol https://t.co/kXd3CYRdwu

I’m not sure what those tweets have done to your mind, so here’s a link to a Baby Einstein video to begin your recovery.

    Storylines

    • Latta out, Galiev in. Sill inexplicably in.
    • The Caps are coming off consecutive losses for the first time ever this season.
    • Our goalie is better than your goalie.
    • Tom Wilson is making changes to his game because he has to.
    • Ya boi Stringham is here with his take on the Caps passing data (We touched on this some in the week 10 snapshot.)
    • The Caps and CSN are ramping up the hype for Ovi’s march to 500.
    • Caps Outsider has a profile of Caps organist Bruce Anderson.
    • Jaromir Jagr can’t stop won’t stop.
    • Washington probably isn’t interested in Dystin Byfuglien. That article also has some provocative ideas about Boudreau’s coaching style in Anaheim and certain parallels we might remember.

NHL/NHLPA is meeting with all 30 teams to educate players on issues specific to domestic violence, sexual assault and sexual harassment.
