Wednesday night, the Washington Capitals hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins at Verizon Center. That meant that All-Time NHL Outdoor Goal leader Eric Fehr returned home.
It was not so glorious. Fehr was unable to suit up due to offseason elbow surgery, though he is expected to return as early as this weekend.
In the first period, the Caps Game Entertainment crew cued up a a tribute video for Fehr. The former Capital got a loud applause from the crowd as he waved from the media area.

Fehr seemed genuinely moved by the gesture.
Caught up with Fehr during first int. He appreciated the tribute. "I had a lot of happy memories here so it was awesome that they did that."

Honored and humbled at tonight's in-game video with my highlights as a member of the Caps. Great memories. Thanks for the support!

You’re the best, F16. Now please lose all the rest of your games in Pittsburgh.
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
