Our favorite interviewer of barely comprehensible Russian Caps, CSN Washington’s Jill Sorenson, is back in action with another dispatch from the language barrier. In a segment titled “Questions For Kuzy,” Jill drills Evgeny Kuznetsov with tough questions — like what’s your favorite TV show.
Kuznetsov struggles through every answer, but his priceless facial expressions more than make up for that.
What’s your favorite movie?
Evgeny Kuznetsov: Handgord?
What was that?
EK: You know, The Party in Vegas? The Hangover.
What’s the last movie that you saw?
EK: Crazy Max? Or Max?
Mad Max?
EK: Yeah, Mad Max. Yeah.
What’s the TV Show you can’t live without?
EK: I’m always watching before game. Two teams and one guy.
Two teams and one guy. Anyone?
EK: Uhhhhhhhh. You know like “Deal, No Deal” but another one.
[Someone outside of frame “Family Feud?”]
EK: Yeahhhhhhhhhh. [laughs uncontrollably]
Family Feud!
The team you love to hate?
EK: [starts picking deep inside his left ear]. It’s hard to say. It’s always hard to play against Canada.
If I weren’t playing hockey, I would be…
EK: I don’t know. It’s very hard. Maybe pilot?
[Kuznetsov raises hand and laughs.]
I have to eat blank for my pregame meal.
EK: Always spaghetti.
Favorite thing to do in the offseason?
EK: Spend time with my family. My parents and see my friends. That’s the best part of my life.
What do you not let yourself eat during the season?
EK: I never eat the silver. [Points to his hip.] Over here from here.
Oh, is it a type of meat? Uh, liver?
EK: Liver. Yeah, liver! Never. Because my parents loved the liver. They try to cook some a couple times and try to lie to me and say it’s beef. Never.
