Tom Wilson is a 6′ 4″ winger who crushes opponents, sometimes punches people in the face, and talks a lot about tigers.

It turns out he can still be a bit of a sap. On Thursday, Wilson’s roommate, Michael Latta, shared a screenshot of their TV that revealed T-Wilz was watching Titanic, the epic romance staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, on repeat.

“It’s a classic,” Wilson said Saturday. “If I told you that was the first time I’ve seen it that would cause bigger problems. It’s a great love story.”

Wilson isn’t the only member of the Capitals’ notorious roommate triumvirate who is a fan of the movie. Andre Burakovsky joined Wilson during the marathon.

“We were actually watching it together twice,” Burakovsky told me. “I’ve seen it 100 times. We were watching it and at the end we were both like ‘Man, this is so sad.’ We started talking about and imagining what it would be like to be in that water. And then 10 minutes later on another channel Titanic started, so we watched it again.”

“The whole movie’s just great,” he concluded.
