As summer draws to a close and pumpkin spice invades everything edible on the planet, we see another hallmark of autumn: the arrival of the Capitals to Washington, DC. Wednesday’s entry: Timothy Leif Oshie, but you can call him TJ.
The arrival of Oshie in DC is an Important Social Media Event.
Oshie’s wife Lauren announced their arrival late Tuesday night.
The Capitals published a tabloid-style photo of the family at the airport in the morning.

This morning, Oshie took the ice at Kettler Capitals Iceplex for informal practice. The Caps shared video of him as he first walked out of the locker room.
And photos.

And more video.
“Oh boy,” Oshie said before taking the ice, as reported by the Post’s Alex Prewitt, “let’s see how these twigs work.”
More from Prewitt:
T.J. Oshie arrived with his wife and daughter late last night. Had a fantasy draft mid-flight. Got Luck and Le'Veon Bell.

Oshie's busy summer week (moving into a new home, getting married) got crazier: Kidney stones put his wife in the hosptal after the wedding.

The excitement is understandable. RMNB’s Pat Holden praised the addition of Oshie an Williams earlier this summer. Oshie should add new dimension to the top line’s offensive production. Another off-season upgrade, Justin Williams, arrived last week. Williams is an elite possession forward who should make everyone around him better. The top six is starting to come together.
Alex Ovechkin is expected to arrive in DC early next week once he fulfills family obligations in Russia.
