San Jose’s bigasses/60 just got even bigger. NBCSN’s Anson Carter reports that former Washington Capitals winger Joel Ward has signed with the Sharks. Ward did not get the four years his agent wanted; instead he’ll settle for three. The contract is worth $9.825 million, and the $3.275 yearly salary is a $275k raise from last season.
WAVE GOODBYE TO THOSE CLUTCH GOALS AND THAT BIG BEAUTIFUL BUTT.
Ward was expected to be among the most sought-after UFAs on July 1st, but went two days without signing a new contract– although we did get treated to a whole bunch of updates from his agent.

Wardo, thank you for everything you did on the ice and in the community. You are a class act and you’ll always be a Capital (well until you’re a Shark but you get the point).
MYYYYYYYYYY MANNNN
