No matter what happens Wednesday, the Washington Capitals have had a fantastic season and two dramatic playoff series we’ll all remember. Along the way, we’ve learned a new phrase uttered by one of our favorite Russians, we’ve closed a coliseum, and we even saw our beloved goaltender go into beast mode.
With all the special projects we’ve done this season, there hasn’t been much time for shirts. Today we have five. Hopefully, you’re going to love them.
Sorry, John, there’s a new Wall in town. After playing the best first eight games in playoff history, Braden Holtby has been given a new nickname by fans: The Great Wall Of Chinatown. To celebrate, we have designed a shirt that features a silhouette of DC filled in with bricks. If you look closely, the wall has graffiti on it including the symbol for constant improvement, which can be found on the back of Holtby’s mask, and a new Holtbeast logo.
Evgeny Kuznetsov has been a revelation in the playoffs, leading the Caps in goals. Also a revelation: his surprising friendship with American Brooks Orpik. This shirt honors the phrase that Orpik taught Kuznetsov to say (except to RMNB) when in a bind with English. You’ll look great at Kettler rocking this or the next time you’re going to a country bar in downtown Calgary.
One of my favorite moments this season was when Lauren Santora’s wish was granted by Alex Ovechkin. During her time in Washington, Santora also warmed to another Cap: Tom Wilson. She nicknamed him Wreck-It Ralph, after the Disney movie character. We have taken it one step further. Here’s Tom as Wreck-It Wilson.
The Washington Capitals played a tough series against the New York Islanders in the first round. So did our fans. But when Evgeny Kuznetsov scored in game seven, it made all the suffering worth it. He closed the Isles’ historic home barn; the team is moving to Brooklyn next season. This shirt is ideal to taunt your Islander-fan coworkers and friends.
Here’s the first RMNB emoji in our t-shirt store. It is perfect and we love it. Above is the baby onesie.
There’s so much more we have in our store too. Check out all of our offerings here.
