Evgeny Kuznetsov just scored the biggest goal of his life. His third period goal closed the Nassau Coliseum forever (thank god) and sent the Caps to the second round of the playoffs where they’ll face those danged New York Rangers. After the game, CSN Washington’s Al Koken spoke to Kuznetsov about his goal, and Kuzy dropped some more broken-English pearls of wisdom.
Describe this feeling that you have right now.
Firstly, I wanna say thanks for everybody who come today and make it loud this building. That’s for us, boys.
How much did this crowd become a factor in this game?
It’s double energy for us. Boys just feelin’ you when you loud. We play good.
Describe your goal. What were you seeing when you were skating with the puck?
I don’t know. That happens. I turn and go to net. Nobody come and I see empty net and I just shoot the puck.
You’ve had some great moments on the international stage, winning the World Junior Championship. How does this feeling feel for you tonight?
This feel amazing right now. We go to next round. It’s not time for celebrate. We go next step. We just keep working.
