The best part of RMNB, I think, is the community. Helping a family during a dark time, scrounging up a bunch of discontinued hockey sticks, or just general fun in the comments– participation is what makes RMNB fun for me.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve wondered how I can make this an even better place. The answer came to me from the SB Nation blog Cage Side Seats: More GIFs. Sometimes we’ll be discussing things in the comments, and words just aren’t enough. Sometimes you need to convey how you feel. The best way to do that is with GIFs.
So, for every notable person in the Caps organization, I will present an article full of my favorite GIFs and my recommendations on when to use them in the comments or in social media.

The Approving Nod
Use This GIF When: You agree with a comment wholeheartedly. For instance, if:
- Someone says Alex Ovechkin is this generation’s greatest goal scorer
- Someone asks if you want to go to Roy Rogers after the game
- Someone believes Abraham Lincoln was both our 16th president and a vampire hunter
Sassy Barry

Use This GIF When: Everyone needs to stop what they’re doing and admire how awesome you are. The best time to post this GIF is when:
- You’ve been complimented by a fellow commenter
- Someone points out your Vine got over 10k views
- Your friends on Facebook think you wore the perfect dress to prom
Disagreeing Barry

Use This GIF When: Someone is spewing nonsense. For instance:
- Someone is adamant that Andre Burakovsky is soft and should be in the AHL
- Someone thinks Nickelback makes good music
- Someone suggests 1D is better off without Zayn. Come back, Zayn. :/
Angry Barry
Use This GIF When: You’re so disappointed about something that you must rage-punch something. Examples:
- Your team loses on a goaltending interference call and your player was literally shoved into said goalie
- When someone uses a GIF from your Tumblr and doesn’t credit you
- School in every county in Maryland is cancelled for snow except for yours
Pacing Barry
Use This GIF When: Someone says something that makes you reconsider your own opinion. For instance:
- A commenter suggests Wegman’s Crispy Rice Cereal is both better and lower-priced than Rice Crispies
- Someone makes a convincing argument that the moon landing was a hoax
- A commenter successfully explains the plot of the Matrix sequels
Temper-Tantrum Barry
Use This GIF When: You simply will not accept what just happened. Nope. Not even a little bit. Like:
- 20 coaches in the NHL unanimously votes Carey Price as their MVP
- Someone uses plus-minus as a way to discredit Alex Ovechkin
- Says Qdoba is better than Chipotle
Psycho Barry
