On Friday night local CBS affiliate WUSA 9 ran a story about the inspiring recovery of Bensten Schone. In the report, correspondent Surae Chinn gave us a full update on B-Man’s condition from the Schone’s neighborhood in McLean, VA. Plus, she spoke with our very own Ian Oland, who is a total stud.
Whew. Okay, that’s a lot of emotion. Probably too much for one week.
Ian’s said this before, but we’re so very proud to be a part of your community. It’s always been our policy into include every part of the hockey world in the discussion, so it’s been an absolute honor to write about and support Bensten and his family in their recovery.
Have a good, safe weekend, everybody. We’ll see you for hockey tomorrow night. In the meantime, here’s a little Seuss to set you on your Friday night.
With banner flip-flapping,
once more you’ll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!
Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You’ll be as famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
