Our earlier post is already out of date. With his power-play goal in the second period, Alex Ovechkin is now sole occupant of the NHL’s goal-scoring lead.
That goal was the second of the game. It’s also the second by Ovi in this game. He’s the only thing that matters tonight.
Mike Green, point man extraordinaire, took possession up high. Green faked a shot and then gave it Ovechkin, saying in a way, “Do the thing, Ovi.”
One more reason why the Caps might wanna keep Green around next season: that pass.
Camera two:
That makes 29 on the season for Ovi, one more than Tyler Seguin.
Watch all of Alex Ovechkin’s 2014-15 goals.
Ovi has 17 points in his last 13 games, including two two-goal games. No hat tricks yet though.
