Tonight is the debut of whatever the name of the show is about the Winter Classic on EPIX. But before that, we’ve gotta watch the Capitals play visitor to the Florida Panthers, who somehow are a pretty good team this season!
The Caps haven’t lost in #rego since December 2nd, and they don’t play to start now. See you at 7:30 on CSN Plus.

Tally’s mumps song, obviously. I don’t know the song it’s based off! I’m so out of touch,.
Storylines
- The Caps are actually ahead of the Panthers when you go by score-adjusted possession. The bigger news is this: the Panthers aren’t that bad.
- Joel Ward is crashing the net.
- Why Barry Trotz doesn’t want Andre Burakovsky to go to WJC.
- The Caps aren’t really turning the puck over that much.
- The EPIX thing is tonight. We’ll have some kinda coverage for it. It’ll be funny; promise.
- Details of the Winter Classic Fan Fest are out. Yey. I’m not going. Double yey.
- Adam Stringham dropped some worries about Caps shot suppression. Here’s my own worrying chart:
- Monumental has an interview with Florida head coach Gallant. No interview with assistant coach Goofus yet.
- Ex-Oilers coach Dallas Eakins dropped some tautologies on the press today. I like that guy.
- The Russian ruble has gone off a cliff. That will absolutely affect chatter about KHL defections and negotiations with Russian players.
- Our comic Shinny is back! She’s not showing up on the listing page for some reason (I’m working on it), so promise me you’ll read it. If you need motivation, here’s this panel:
What You’re Missing on TV Tonight
Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas (8:00 PM on NBC) An elf heads to New York City to meet his biological father in this retelling of “Elf,” which blends elements of the film and the Broadway musical. Good cast. Sounds funny.
