Before morning skate on Saturday, Florida-based Caps fan Jenna (@oddwomanrush) ran into CSN Washington color commentator Craig Laughlin. That’s when some social media magic happened. I’ll let Jenna explain.
I live near Tampa, and I was downtown this morning with a friend and my nieces. We saw Locker walking down the street towards Amalie Arena. We greeted each other (I was wearing a Caps hoodie). I asked him if I could have a picture with him, and he said sure. Then I said “Let’s take a selfie” and moved into position beside him.
Laughlin asked, “How does this work? I’ve never taken a selfie before.”
I said “First you have to put your arm around me…”, so he did, and then he squeezed my shoulder. I responded, “Look at you – you’re a natural.”
After I took the picture and looked at it, I asked if that was really his first selfie and he said it was. I said “Woo! Maybe I’ll be on Russian Machine Never Breaks!” and Locker responded, “Yeah! Send it to Ian! Selfie Sunday!”
So I did.
Okay, so that’s great. I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing that Caps-related celebrities are calling their shots to be on the website, but I’m totally down with it.
Now I know Jenna feels good and everything. She got the first ever Craig Laughlin selfie. But has she bought The Craig Laughlin his first ever Natty Boh? No, she has not.
