Player From Brooks Laich’s Lockout Team Scores Goal of the Year (GIF)

I know “Goal of the Year” is a big statement, but look at this goal and try to disagree.

Oh my god.

The Swiss player is Vincent Praplan of Brooks Laich’s old lockout team, the Kloten Flyers. The 20-year-old forward played last season with the OHL’s North Bay Battalion, tallying 53 points in 61 games, before returning to his homeland because he — go figure — couldn’t land a deal in another NHL team’s organization.

This was in a Champions Hockey League game between Kloten and HV71.

After doing a 360 at the blue line, lobbing the puck over a defenseman’s stick to himself, deke-ing the goaltender to the ice, and then scoring on his backhand, maybe somebody should call this guy. He went through four people. FOUR.

Wow.
