Over the weekend, Braden Neinaber of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan spent the weekend in Washington D.C. having the time of his life. The eight-year-old Braden Holtby-superfan suffers from Langerhans cell histiocytosis, a disease similar to cancer, and the Washington Capitals decided to treat Neinaber like one of their own.
That means Saturday, Neinaber skated with the team during practice before joining them at Verizon Center for the Sabres game Sunday.
There were several heart-warming moments, including the ceremonial face-off on Sunday where young Braden kicks noted pest Steve Ott out of the dot. The other oh my gosh moment: Braden’s mock fight with Tom Wilson on Saturday.
The six-foot four-inch enforcer was no match for the little forward.
Yes, you get a hug for that.
Take a look at Braden’s fun day out on the ice courtesy of CSN Washington and Monumental Network.
