Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 13th goal of the season tonight and is now once again tied for the league lead. But we’ve seen seen a ton of Ovi goals from the Ovi spot, and leading the league in goals is sooo 2010. How about something fancy for a change.
Ovi delivered late in the second period. As Ovechkin carried the puck through neutral ice, he found himself being shaded by the entire Minnesota Wild team; it was Ovi vs. the world. You’d think this would be a problem, but nope. Instead of dumping the puck in, the Russian machine put the puck through the legs of Zenon Konopka before racing into the zone and trying to get a shot on net.
No idea how he pulled that off.
The Great Eight didn’t score, but this is still the highlight of the night.
