It’s been a productive day for Connor Carrick. After signing his first pro contract with the Capitals, he scored his first NHL preseason goal. It’s not really an “NHL” goal, but it’s still awesome.
Midway through the second period, the Bruins got whistled for too many men on the ice. With both Mike Green and John Carlson out of the lineup, Carrick quarterbacked the Caps 1-3-1 power play. Mikhail Grabovski (who recorded his first Caps point) did a quick give-and-go with Carrick, who unleashed a blast over the catching glove of a screened Tuukka Rask.
Talk about making it hard to send you down.
Here’s John Walton’s call of the goal.
