Connor McMichael’s sick pass from Team Canada’s second scrimmage

Connor McMichael’s talent is undeniable at 19. The Capitals’ first-round pick was invited to Canada’s World Junior selection camp late last month. The center is nearly a lock to make the team again and will likely be a big say on if Canada repeats as champions.

During Canada’s first intrasquad scrimmage, McMichael played on the first line and scored a goal.

Sunday, McMichael skated on the left wing of the first line along with Dylan Cozens and Graeme Clarke. The Capitals top prospect had several good chances including an impressive behind-the-back pass at full speed in the neutral zone.

Connor McMichael named to Team Canada’s World Junior Championship Selection Camp

Connor McMichael’s groundbreaking (or I guess, icebreaking?) year continues.

Monday, the 18-year-old Capitals prospect was named to Team Canada’s World Junior Championship Selection Camp, where he will have an opportunity to make Canada’s 2020 U-20 World Junior team.

The nod is another honor for McMichael this calendar year which includes being a first-round pick (25th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft, signing his first NHL contract, and participating in his first NHL training camp (where he was dominant at times in games).
