Alex Ovechkin scored his 28th career hat trick against the Florida Panthers on Friday. The Great 8 was awarded part of a Thanksgiving turkey after the game by his adoring teammates, which replaced the team’s normal giant ax and Viking shield.
Ovechkin, the offensive player of the game, joined Dmitry Orlov (best defender) beside a makeshift table and both ripped off giant turkey legs.

There was once a time Alex Ovechkin vacationed in Turkey solo. But now, at 33 years of age, Ovechkin is bringing the whole fam.
Last week, the Ovechkins, including Ovi, Nastya, and baby Sergei, arrived at the Titanic Mardan Palace for some private time at the beach. And I’m happy to report, Alex is fully embracing his role as a dad. How do I know this? Because he wore matching blue swim trunks with baby Sergei over the weekend.
The Capitals’ Thanksgiving Eve game gave us something we can all be grateful for: the Mites on Ice in turkey costumes.
During the first intermission, local area youth hockey players took the ice and proved that turkeys really can fly, even with giant costumes weighing them down.

Early this morning, before North America woke up, Alex Ovechkin tweeted out a photo of Maria Kirilenko and himself. “The best vacation in the world!!,” the message read with typical ovithusiasm. “#MardanPalace thx u !!!president room))hahaha [sic unbelievable]”
As RMNB’s Senior Vacation Reporter, my mind was filled with questions like where is Mardan Palace? What is the President’s Room like? And is that chair literally made out of gold?
