Dmitry Orlov’s Stanley Cup day was shorter than originally planned. The championship trophy’s arrival was delayed six hours after a travel snafu. But that doesn’t mean Orlov didn’t have a great experience.
On Instagram, Orlov called his time with the Stanley Cup “one of the best and most memorable days of my life!” The Russian defenseman shared the trophy with his hometown community of Novokuznetsk, signing autographs and taking photos in front of the city’s ferris wheel.
He also threw a private party where he revealed an extravagant Stanley Cup cake that rivaled Alex Ovechkin’s.
