Hublot releases stunning limited-edition watch honoring Alex Ovechkin

Hublot released its latest stunning watch on Thursday and it honors future Hockey Hall of Famer Alex Ovechkin.

Entitled the Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Carbon Alex Ovechkin, the stunning accessory features Ovi’s ‘Great Eight’ logo at 8 o’clock on the dial and has his signature on the back. The tip of the chronograph hand is finished in red, white, and blue, which is both a nod to the Russian flag as well as the colors of the Washington Capitals. The timepiece is powered by Hublot’s in-house UNICO chronograph mechanism and its column wheel on the dial side.

The watch is being sold exclusively in Russia for the next 30 days before going on sale worldwide after that. It retails for $26,200.

Alex Ovechkin shows off Hublot watch Capitals gifted him after scoring 700 goals

Alex Ovechkin showed off a fancy gift from the Washington Capitals on Instagram, Thursday.

After scoring his 700th goal against the New Jersey Devils on February 22, the Washington Capitals promised Ovechkin a fancy watch from Hublot during a pregame ceremony against the Winnipeg Jets.

Alex Ovechkin honored by Wayne Gretzky, parents, and son for scoring 700 goals in touching pregame ceremony

Alex Ovechkin was honored in a pregame ceremony by the Washington Capitals after scoring his 700th career goal Saturday against the Devils.

Ovechkin left the Capitals bench after an introduction video aired on the jumbotron and joined his son Sergei, his wife Nastya (who’s expecting baby number two), Capitals majority owner Ted Leonsis, president Dick Patrick, and NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly who were already on the ice.

By the end of the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Hublot names Alex Ovechkin ‘friend of the brand’ during fancy dinner reception at Nobu

Alex Ovechkin was a busy man on Tuesday night. After signing autographs and mingling with fans at the Capitals’ annual season ticket holder event, the Great 8 made his way to Georgetown where he was honored by Hublot, a luxury Swiss watchmaker.

Hublot named Ovechkin a “friend of the brand” during the fancy dinner reception at the acclaimed fusion restaurant, Nobu. The distinction is a big honor as Ovechkin joins other famous athletes like Usain Bolt and Pélé in Hublot’s portfolio of friends.
